What belongs in a cold wallet serial register

A serial register fails when it only lists “Ledger — vault A.” Useful registers capture the exact model, serial number as printed on the device, purchase or RMA reference, physical custody location, who last verified the device was present, and the date of that check.

Fields that earn their keep

Do not store seed-related hints in the same sheet. Keep recovery material under separate dual control; the register should identify devices, not unlock them.
